Massachusetts suspended her nursing license on the basis that she diverted and/or used Roxanol, Dilaudid and/or oxycodone to excess, failed to accurately document medical records, and falsified one or more controlled substance receipt records. She subsequently gave up her Massachusetts license.
The reported record does not explain how the Massachusetts diversion was detected. Because Connecticut law allows its nursing board to act on discipline imposed in another state, the Connecticut Board of Examiners for Nursing took up the matter.
The Connecticut board placed her LPN license on probation for four years. It found that she was and remained actively involved in recovery, attending therapy and anonymous support groups and submitting to random urine screens, all of which had been negative.
Under the probation she may not access or administer any controlled substances for one year and must complete coursework in general and nursing practice ethics.
