Manhattan, Kansas registered nurse pleaded guilty…

A 30-year-old registered nurse from Manhattan, Kansas, entered a guilty plea in federal court to conspiracy to distribute oxycodone, a Schedule II opioid, and to obstructing justice. The U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Kansas announced the plea in June 2011.

The available portion of the release does not describe how the conspiracy operated, where the oxycodone came from, or what conduct made up the obstruction count. The case was investigated by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation and prosecuted by an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the district.

The nurse was one of several defendants in the case. Two co-defendants were scheduled for sentencing in June and August 2011. The release does not state the nurse's sentence or any licensing action taken by the Kansas State Board of Nursing.
