A registered pharmacy technician at a Minnesota pharmacy diverted Schedule II controlled substances in or around September 2018. On at least two occasions she removed tablets from prescription vials that had already been filled for patients, which meant those patients did not receive the entire quantity of oxycodone-acetaminophen 5/325 mg that had been prescribed to them.
The pharmacy's asset protection manager met with the technician, who signed a handwritten statement admitting she had stolen Schedule II controlled substance medications from the pharmacy. The pharmacy attributed the loss of 167 tablets of oxycodone-acetaminophen 5/325 to her diversion.
The Board of Pharmacy adopted findings of fact, conclusions and a final order revoking the technician's registration at its October 2020 meeting. The revocation was reported in the Board's disciplinary activity summary alongside its September 2020 actions.
