A pharmacy technician from Hudson, New Hampshire, was arrested by Londonderry police on June 12, 2013, on charges of possession of a controlled narcotic drug, possession with intent to distribute, theft from a building and possession of drugs in a motor vehicle. The three possession counts were felonies and the theft count a Class A misdemeanor.
According to the attorney general's office and the Board of Pharmacy, she was fired from her job at a Londonderry pharmacy the same day after acknowledging that she had taken between 100 and 150 hydrocodone tablets on roughly 10 occasions beginning in late April. The board's suspension order states she admitted selling the stolen tablets to friends.
The New Hampshire Board of Pharmacy issued an order of emergency suspension, finding that the case involved imminent danger to life or health. The order barred her from working as a pharmacy technician in the state pending a hearing scheduled for July 3, at which the board would decide whether to continue the temporary suspension, impose permanent disciplinary sanctions, or both.
