A pharmacy technician worked at a retail pharmacy in Lawton, Oklahoma from about April 30, 2024 until October 23, 2025. The technician had held an Oklahoma pharmacy technician permit since February 2000.
On October 23, 2025, according to the Board of Pharmacy complaint, the pharmacist-in-charge noticed tablets on the floor below the technician while prescriptions were being filled and asked whether the tablets were coming from the technician's clothes. The technician reportedly admitted to diverting 30 tablets of hydrocodone-acetaminophen 10mg-325mg, was asked to leave immediately, and was terminated that day for theft of a controlled substance.
The pharmacy first filed a DEA 106 loss report for 30 tablets while it completed an internal investigation and counts. An amended DEA 106 form submitted on October 26, 2025 reported a loss of 1,538 hydrocodone-acetaminophen tablets and 56 dextroamphetamine-amphetamine 10 mg tablets. The larger figures come from the pharmacy's count, not from an admission.
On December 3, 2025 a felony charge of larceny, burglary or theft of a controlled dangerous substance was filed in Comanche County District Court. The charge was still pending when the Board complaint was filed. The Oklahoma Attorney General issued a supervisory letter in June 2026 reviewing the Board's proposed disciplinary action. A criminal charge is an allegation, not a finding of guilt.
