Police in Herriman, Utah arrested a nurse on June 3, 2026 after serving a search warrant at her home. According to a probable cause statement, detectives found thousands of prescription pills and more than $50,000 in cash inside a safe. The pills were in multiple prescription bottles, some prescribed to the nurse and others to other people.
Police said the investigation started in early 2026 after detectives received information that prescription narcotics were being sold from the home. Detectives conducted multiple controlled purchases of suspected oxycodone, and the affidavit states the purchased pills later tested positive for oxycodone.
According to the probable cause statement, the nurse told investigators after receiving Miranda warnings that she had sold some of her own prescribed oxycodone to another person on multiple occasions and had sold pills off and on for several years. Police also reported that she said some of the medications in the safe had belonged to deceased patients and that she had not properly disposed of them after obtaining them, while denying that she sold medications belonging to deceased patients. She was charged with possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I or II controlled substance, possession of a prescription drug for an unlawful purpose, and possession of marijuana. At the time of the report, Utah Division of Professional Licensing records showed an active registered nurse license with no prior disciplinary action, and the home care and hospice company where she appeared to work had not yet responded to questions about its diversion-prevention policies.
